Coffee and ice cream at the Emirates Palace
The Emirates Palace is, for me, Abu Dhabi's second most iconic landmark, after the Sheikh Zayed mosque. So add it to your list of places to go in Abu Dhabi.
The 5-star hotel is world-famous. Fortunately, you don't have to stay overnight to visit this hotel.
You can enter the Emirates Palace free of charge, take a stroll and dine in one of the cafés or restaurants.
I recommend going to the Café comme which is on the first floor of the hotel, no reservations are necessary. Here you can order a variety of drinks, including a Gold Cappuccino, a Gold Matcha Latte and a gold-covered ice cream.
They're more expensive than regular drinks and don't taste all that different, but how many times can you say you've drunk or eaten gold?
Activities in Abu Dhabi: kayaking at the Louvre
There are 3 ways to kayak in Abu Dhabi, and one of them is at the Louvre. Sea-Hawks Water Sports can take you out on the Arabian Sea for 1 hour to see the building's architecture from another angle and find out more about the museum.
Children as young as 6 can try their hand at the adventure, but only up to the age of 12, they must be accompanied by an adult. For me, it's one of the best things to do in Abu Dhabi with children.
Kayaking in the Eastern Mangrove National Park
For a super relaxing, yet educational and interesting kayaking experience in Abu Dhabi, check out this tour from 2-hour kayak trip in the Eastern Mangrove National Park.

A desert safari is one of the fun things to do in Abu Dhabi! It's very touristy, but it's also a great way to spend an evening or afternoon doing nothing but contemplating the dunes.
You'll be picked up at your hotel at 2 pm by a guide and enjoy a one-hour jeep ride through the Abu Dhabi dessert. Once there, you can explore the sights.
You can stop to see the camels before arriving at your camp, where you can do some hiking. quadfrom sandboard or simply walk along the dunes until sunset, then enjoy a buffet and some entertainment.
Water sports on Saadiyat beach
There's so much to do in Abu Dhabi, it's easy to forget that you can also go to the beach and relax!
One of Abu Dhabi's best beaches is Saadiyat beachA long stretch of white sand, ideal for sunbathing and water sports.

The Yas Marina circuit is open to cyclists, joggers and walkers to circle the track clockwise. It's actually one of the free things to do in Abu Dhabi. The venue is in partnership with Abu Dhabi cycling club. On site, Free bicycles are available for adults and children.
