Dubai airport transfer: article summary
Emirates shuttle service
Emirates offers free shuttle services only for Economy and Premium Economy passengers holding a ticket and travelling fromAbu Dhabi in Dubai andAl Ain in Dubai.
The bus service applies only to Economy and Premium Economy passengers booked on Emirates flights. to/from Dubai arriving or departing with this Emirates flight.
Passengers must hold a valid airline ticket to board the bus. Bus service must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. Requests received after this time will not be guaranteed.
The minimum connection time is 2 hours. for inbound and outbound passengers.
Dubai airport transfers: Etihad shuttle services
Etihad offers free shuttle services to passengers who wish to to Abu Dhabi international airport from Dubai.
As advised by the Etihad Airways website, be sure to book your shuttle service with Etihad Coach at least 24 hours before your trip. You can also book online on theEtihad Airways.
Please note that if you do not book in advance, a service charge of AED 25 (€6.80) per person will be billed to you.
Dubai airport cab services
You can obtain cab services both to Dubai International Airport and to the city on arrival.
Dubai's cabs are cream-colored and those with pink trim have female drivers.
Dubai International Airport offers cab services from all its terminals. You can follow the signs to the official cab stand at each terminal, or ask the airport staff to help you locate the cab stands.
Cab ranks are well organized, with means of transport operating 24/7.
Please note that a charge of AED 25 (€6.80) applies to cab bookings from the airport. The price for each kilometer by cab is AED 1.96 (€0.53).
Other cab services at the airport
Dubai Taxi Corporation offers a wide range of transportation options for its passengers. The airport cabs offered by this company are reserved for travellers arriving at Dubai International Airport.
What's more, taking a cab from the airport allows you to reach other Emirates. To locate these cabs, look for the cab sign inside terminals 1, 2 and 3 where cab drivers wait to take passengers to their desired destinations.
Please note that the cab meter for this company's cabs starts at AED 25 (€6.80) and the kilometer costs 2.19 AED (€0.60).
Relying on the Dubai airport metro
One of Dubai's cleanest, air-conditioned and most affordable means of transport is the Dubai Metro. Dubai International Airport has two metro stations.
Trains run frequently from terminals 1 and 3Both stations are on the red line. This line is accessible :
- From Monday to Thursday, 5 a.m. to midnight
- Visit Friday, 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- Visit Sunday, 8 a.m. to midnight
You can buy your metro tickets at the airport stations. The cost depends on the number of zones you travel in. Travelers can also try out the Nol card, which can be reloaded and offers travelers a discount on standard fares.
From the airport, you'll arrive right in the heart of Dubai. One of these stations is located at Ibn Battuta shopping center. About start shopping as soon as you get off the plane!
