The house of Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum

Saeed bin Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum House is one of Dubai's oldest buildings and the home of the emirate's former ruler, the grandfather of Dubai's current ruler. Built in 1896, it was the seat of government when Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum resided there.

He died in 1958, leaving behind a great legacy that bears witness to the evolution of Dubai as an emirate and the United Arab Emirates as a country.

Today, the historic residence is transformed into a museum housing iconic old photographs, coins, stamps and documents that preserve the country's short, but great, history.

The structure is made of coral stone and mud, as were all buildings in the region at the time. The typical Arab courtyard has a unique charm.

There are also a multitude of cafés and kiosks. to stock up on essentials for the day. The main water activity here is snorkeling.

To get here, all you have to do is turn right after the bus stop on Al Sufouh Road, about 500 m from Dubai Media City.

The Dubai Metro is divided into 3 different sections: Gold, Women & children and Ordinary. There are different ticket prices depending on your section.

As far as buses are concerned, you'll be pleased to know that all are air-conditioned to make getting around easier! In Dubai, bus stops are also air-conditioned ! These same bus stops are equipped with screens and connected to the Internet, giving you real-time traffic updates.

You'll be happy to know thatthere is no income tax generated in the country. This means you receive your full salary, without any deductions.
