Located at the Four Seasons Resort in Dubai, in the heart of Jumeirah, COYA Dubai is an establishment serving mainly Peruvian cuisine.
Today, I've decided to show you around the place and tell you about the delicious meals they prepare.
Coya in Dubai: article summary
The Coya in Dubai: a unique ambience
When you enter the establishment, you have direct access to the huge bar. Here, you can sip wonderful cocktails while waiting for a seat to open up. During your tasting, you can enjoy a typically Peruvian decor.
Having undergone a major renovation, the venue features an abundance of greenery weaving through the ceiling and numerous Peruvian artifacts decorating the space. Some touches are more subtle, with antique mirrors, aged gold paint, rusty screens and Balinese doors. The place is now more beautiful than ever.
At the time of booking, you choose your view. Indeed, some tables line the large windows, offering a glimpse of the view over downtown Dubai. A perfect place to spend a romantic moment.
Enjoy a whole new ambience
The most striking new feature of COYA in Dubai is in the center of the restaurant. Here you'll find a DJ booth. During the renovation, the establishment decided to focus on music.
The venue even has its own music label: COYA Music. Here, you can enjoy the presence of the world's most famous DJs all year round.
However, don't expect to find electro music here. Instead, expect South American and Spanish influences which become more rhythmic throughout the evening. Each track is remixed to suit COYA's identity.
COYA in Dubai: exceptional dishes from Peru
In the kitchen, chef Éric Jung is at the helm. Most COYA customers know the menu inside out. Here you'll find numerous chicken, meat, fish and seafood dishes.
Each visit presents you with an almost impossible choice, and that's one of the reasons I like this place.
The menu is largely gourmet, and you must count around 130 AED (€33) for three courses.
A few new items have been added, such as berenjenas frita and aguacate maki roll, combining shiitake, aji limo, avocado quinoa and black sesame.
You can also try COYA's famous chuletas de borrego, lamb chops with fig and aji amarillo chutney, and cazuela de vieira, bomba rice and asparagus.
COYA Brunch is also something you won't want to miss at this establishment. It offers a classic brunch with many dishes to enjoy. If you'd like to find out more about where to brunch in Dubai, read my article on the subject.
Finally, if you wish to eat in this establishment, I advise you to book. Indeed, the place is very popular in town. If you arrive without a reservation, you may not be served immediately.
