Let's take a look must-see places in each zone and the activities you can take part in.
Dubai Downtown
Dubai Downtown is the city's modern district, the symbol of Dubai's renewal, and you won't want to miss it. This is where you'll find the center of economic activity and many of Dubai's landmarks, such as :
- Visit Burj Khalifathe world's tallest tower, with its its 828-metre height. You can climb to the top to admire the view from its observation platform. In fact, this activity is included in the Dubai Digital Pass !
- Visit Dubai Fountain, the world's longestwhere you can enjoy a grandiose spectacle of water jets, music and light.
- Visit Dubai Malla huge shopping mall with over 1,200 luxury boutiques, activities for all ages (Kidzania for children, Dubai Aquarium and its underwater zoo, a skating rink and numerous cafés and restaurants)
For accommodation or a full day of sightseeing, Dubai Downtown is a very good choiceeasily accessible from the international airport of the city.
Palm Jumeirah
The Palm Jumeirah is a gigantic artificial archipelagowhich is shaped like a palm tree. It's a place where luxury meets excess, right on the ocean. And an area brimming with activities and buildings to discover.
Among the must-sees are :
- Sound monorailwhich offers an unusual way to get around
- Atlantis Hotela majestic edifice where you'll find the Lost Chambers aquarium which plunges you into the ruins of Atlandide, and the Water Park Aquaventure just a stone's throw away
- The landscaped promenade on the water's edge, to glimpse yachts and breathtaking residences
This area of Dubai is a must-see during your stay, as it bears witness to dubai's folie de grandeur. It's a very pleasant area, ideal for spending a day sunbathing, sightseeing and relaxing.
Dubai Marina
Located right next to Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina is the world's largest marina. It is home to the JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residence) with its impressive buildings, cafés, boutiques and various entertainment venues.
This is the area known as the New Dubai and you'll be able to :
- See the Dubai Marina Yacht Club and its colossal boats, belonging to very wealthy owners
- Do a zip-line ride to fly over the area at more than 80 km/h
- Climb aboard a boat to a cruise which will allow you to discover as much as you can from the comfort of your seat on the water!
It's a fun neighborhood with lots of activities. If you want to enjoy the nearby beaches and you prefer outdoor activities, this could be a good base for your stay.
Bluewaters
The Bluewaters island district is located south of Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina. It's a small area made up of numerous luxury residences. Perfect for a stay with a breathtaking ocean view, you can also take advantage of :
- Take a ride on Ain Dubaithe world's tallest Ferris wheel!
- Opt for a shopping session in the immense shopping mall on the island
- Walking along the promenade for a breath of fresh air
It's a great place to relax and enjoy an evening! You can sip a drink or dine, with the sunset as your companion.
The Deira district
The Deira district, located in the north of Dubai, is one of the city's the city's oldest. Here you'll find a quieter atmosphere, traditional stores and a mix of smells and flavors that seem to have disappeared from the modern part of town.
Among the most interesting activities in Deira are :
- A visit to the Gold souka covered area where you can buy all kinds of products in this material
- Abrasthe small traditional boats that you will see sailing on the waters of this district
- Dubai Creek, with its port and its tower, the Dubai Creek Towerwhich is still under construction, but could become the world's tallest tower...by surpassing the 1 km high !
Don't miss this different neighbourhood, which will take you on a journey through time. an atypical Dubaia reminder of the past!
Offbeat but just as interesting!
While the main districts will keep you busy during your stay, you can also visit the Map of DubaiSome of the locations indicated are more out of the way.
Here are my suggestions, if you want to discover something other than the most central areas:
- Carry out a desert safari to discover the vast stretches of sand bordering the eastern part of Dubai
- Combine visits to Global Village in Dubai and theme park IMG Worlds of Adventure south-east of the city
- Discover the Dubai Motion Gate south of the city, an amusement park dedicated to the 7e art that will delight film lovers of all ages
