Like many other countries, Dubai has a number of strategically-located pick-up points. However, this availability comes at a price. A large number of these ATMs incur a withdrawal fee of AED 10 (approx. €2.50).
To avoid the accumulation of costs, I advise you to withdraw as much as you think you need in a single transaction. This will avoid multiple charges if you need to use an ATM.
How much can you withdraw from ATMs in Dubai?
Most ATMs in Dubai traditionally allow withdrawals of up to AED 5,000. This converts to around €1,300. If you wish to withdraw such a large sum in a single transaction, make sure you're not held back by your withdrawal limits.
You will find that it is mainly banks in the United Arab Emirates that allow you to withdraw this amount at any time.

Even though the world is fast becoming a cashless society, I always recommend keeping a little change with you. It can be used for tips, cabs, in case you lose your card or it doesn't work. For example, you're ready for any situation.

Whether your card is a Maestro or a Mastercard, there are chances are it will work in Dubai. However, always check with your bank and let them know you're traveling abroad.

At the airport, fees are sometimes higher than in central Dubai. I advise you to wait until you reach the city before making any cash withdrawals. If you need cash immediately after getting off the plane, consider changing your euros at the airport. The exchange rate is than if you were to make a withdrawal.
