New visa rules for Dubai in 2022
Effective October 3, 2022, the United Arab Emirates has introduced a new entry visa system. The aim is to attract talent and skilled workers from all over the world. As a result, the boosted labour market competitiveness enjoys great stability among UAE residents and families.
The majority of visitor visas will now be available for single or multiple entries. They will be valid for 60 days from the date of issue. They can also be renewed for similar periods.
What is a tourist visa in Dubai?
Dubai offers tourist visas to visitors who wish to stay in the city for more than 14 days.
In addition, the majority of entry visas, including employment visas, business entry visas, multiple-entry tourist visas and entry permits for visiting family and friends, can be obtained from without the need for a sponsor or host.
How much does a tourist visa to Dubai cost?
Although this much-awaited tourist visa does not require applicants to have a sponsor, it will require them to have a minimum bank balance of €4,000 (equivalent amount in other currencies). This requirement must be met within the six months preceding the visa application.
Holders of the multiple-entry tourist visa will be allowed to stay in Dubai for the following periods 90 consecutive days, provided that each stay does not exceed 180 days per year.
How to apply for a tourist visa in Dubai
You can apply for a Dubai visa through a travel agency or online booking site, or be sponsored by one of the renowned hotels or airlines based in Dubai.
Apply for a visa online
It's both easy and convenient to apply for a visa online via the ICP Smart Services portal or the GDRFA website.
Simply provide the required information and documents and pay online without having to send any documents by e-mail or by post. go to the embassy in person. Once your visa application has been approved, you will receive an approved copy of the e-visa by e-mail.
Obtaining your tourist visa from the airlines
The requirements and conditions set by a licensed airline can vary. One of these requirements is, of course, that you fly with them to your destination. Prices can also vary and are subject to change, so it's best to check with the airline of your choice for the latest prices and requirements.
Obtain your visa from travel agencies and hotels
You can also authorize a travel agency to apply for a tourist visa on your behalf. Note that you will need to ensure that the travel agency or hotel is licensed and authorized by the relevant UAE authorities before providing them with any payment or documentation of any kind.

Visa extension in Dubai
Under the UAE's new visa rules, all types of visa can be renewed for similar periods from the date of issue. This can be done without having to leave the country.
Visitors may request a second renewal before the first expires. against 600 AED at each renewal.
Overstayers who fail to renew their visas on time will be required to pay a fine of AED 100 for each day of overstay, calculated from 10 days after visa expiry.

Visitor visa prices are as follows:
- Single entry (30 days) : 330 AED (approx. €90)
- Multiple entry (3 months) : 697 AED (€195)
