Where is the Fairmont in Ajman?
The 252-room hotel is set on a 200-metre stretch of sand along the Corniche d'Ajmanthe smallest emirate in the United Arab Emirates.
The small but interesting Ajman Museum is a 10-minute walk away. Holidaymakers tend to come here for the sun, sea and sand, rather than for tourism. Dubai International Airport is just 25 km away.
How is the place decorated?
Elegant and contemporary, with a touch of glamour. The soaring circular lobby pays homage to the emirate's marine heritagewith shades of blue and turquoise.
The room features a glittering Lasvit chandelier resembling a fishing net cast over a school of fish. The Kiyi Turkish restaurant is particularly stunning, with colorful fabrics, handmade tiles and numerous lanterns.
What facilities are on site?
Next to the beach and the swimming pool, there is a good-sized children's pool with beach umbrella and bar, water sports center, beach volleyball, tennis and basketball courts.
The spa is well worth a visit. It features an elegant gray marble hammam, as well as a steam room and sauna.
If you'd like to do a little shopping, there's a free shuttle to the enormous Dubai Mall. Golfers, meanwhile, can play the 18-hole championship course at nearby Al Zorah Golf Club, with special stay and play packages available.
How are the rooms?
The rooms are quiet and luxurious, with light-brown walls, copper bedside tables and dark wood furniture adorned with geometric shapes.
Beds have soft leather headboards adorned with metal studs and premium linens, while the large marble bathrooms are equipped with a rain shower, separate bathtub and Fairmont rose-scented toiletries.
With the exception of the 12 standard Fairmont rooms, all feature balconies. They also offer a magnificent view of the sea. are well worth the extra cost.
What can you eat at the Fairmont in Ajman?
There are three main restaurants:
- Turkish buffet
- Italian
- international
These are all excellent. Let the chefs guide you through the must-try main courses, but be sure to order the kuzu incik, braised lamb shank.
For breakfast, Spectrum offers a full buffet including freshly baked bread, eggs cooked to order and coffee.
Located on the beach, Driftwood was the choice of four bars for sunsets and simple snacks, but very tasty, such as hamburgers and calamari.
Prices at the Fairmont in Ajman
For a double room, you will be charged :
- 999 AED (€270) in low season
- 1,499 AED (€310) in high season.
At this price, you'll enjoy breakfast and free Wi-Fi throughout the establishment.
Is the facility family-friendly?
Yes. There are connecting rooms, free cots and extra beds, as well as children's menus, beach toys, a kids' club and a swimming pool. Child care is also available.
