Honeymoon in Dubai: article summary
The advantages of a honeymoon in Dubai
A honeymoon in the United Arab Emirates' largest city offers desert, beach and a multitude of stores and activities, all in a luxurious setting.
Couples can spend a few days in a seaside resort and another in an elegant downtown hotel. A little bonus: Dubai is an ideal stopover on the way to the Maldives or Seychelles. Both are a 3? hour flight away.
The best times of year to honeymoon in Dubai
To avoid extreme heat, avoid Dubai between late May and late August. Otherwise, the emirate is an ideal place to visit all year round.
What are the best places to visit in Dubai?
The city is full of romantic places to take your other half. Whether on the roofs of Dubai or face the immensity of the desert, you can choose your destination!
Visit the Burj Khalifa
For the best views, climb the Burj Khalifathe world's tallest building. With its unique architecture, this futuristic mixed-use skyscraper is located in downtown Dubai.
Buy tickets for its "At the Top" observation deck for sunset. I also recommend book tickets for this architectural feat well in advancebecause they tend to sell out quickly.
Spend some time at the Dubai Fountain
Designed by the company responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, this site is just as majestic. Stop off on the shores of Lake Burj Khalifa in downtown Dubai to see its fountain system. Built at a cost of approximately $220 million, it features 6,600 lights and sprays water up to 150 metres into the air.
Discover the desert of Dubai
When Dubai was being developed, the United Arab Emirates kept some of its land untouched. Head to this piece of wilderness to discover a desert safari. Activities on this type of excursion may include dune bashing, a camel ride and dinner under the stars.
Visit the gold souk
Traditional Deira district in Dubai, the gold souk has over 380 retailers. On-site, you can negotiate jewelry prices. For more shopping, stop off at the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, at the Dubai Mall and in the emirate's many other shopping malls.
Take a boat trip
Venture out on a romantic dinner cruise. Dhows, or traditional sailing boats, navigate Dubai's new water canal, historic Dubai Creek or cosmopolitan Dubai Marina.
For another evening boat trip, consider dinner on a boat cruising the Dubai creek. During the day, try a ride along Dubai Creek in an "abra", another traditional type of boat.
Get some height
For a thrilling experience combined with panoramic views, take a hot-air balloon ride across the desert. Or dine suspended from a crane over the city at the Sky Dive Dubaia culinary experience you and your loved one will never forget.
Which hotel should you choose for your honeymoon?
There are many hotels in Dubai. However, some of them will be particularly well suited to hosting your honeymoon.
