The history of the world's islands
The idea for the Islands of the World in Dubai was conceived by the ruler of Dubai, the renowned Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Developed by Nakheel Projects, construction of the islands was handled by Van Oord and Boskalis, the same company that built the Palm Jumeirah. Building the 300-island cluster began in 2003but had to be suspended in 2008 due to financial problems.
To date, only a handful of the world's islands are actually fully functional and open to commercial use.

You can book a day trip to Dubai's Islands of the World either online or at one of Dubai's travel agencies. Packages include a visit to Lebanon Island, one of the only developed islands, and include access to beaches and hotels.

If you'd like to visit beaches other than Jumeirah Beach, head to the Islands of the World. Here, you visit one of the two beaches open to the public. Take some time to sunbathe under the glorious sun, dip your feet in the water and relax. while listening to the lapping of the waves. There are also cabanas and cafés available on the beaches where you can buy cocktails to really feel like you're on vacation!
Relax by the pool
Vacations are synonymous with relaxation. What better way to unwind than by taking a dip in the pool or reading a good book while basking in the sun? Let the kids splash around in the paddling pool while you cool off. in the pleasant waters of the swimming pool in a heavenly setting.
Take part in a volleyball match

Here are a few things to bear in mind if you want to visit Dubai's islands of the world. You'll avoid any hassle during your trip.
- The boat takes you there every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m..
- Evening access to Dubai's Islands of the World from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- If you'd like to take a day trip, plan to spend at least 8 hours on the islands
- Visit the island costs about 290 AED (€80) per adult. It includes beach access, towels, deckchairs, pool access and more.
