What is the Jumeirah Lake Tower district?
Jumeirah Lakes Towers (more commonly known as JLT) is one of Dubai's most popular districts.
Filled with bars, lively restaurants and cafés, it's a great place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. However, there are also plenty of lounges, gyms and other activities to discover.
Jumeirah Lake Tower is one of the largest residential areas in the new Dubai. With almost 70 buildings spread over 26 blocks around three lakes, the area is now home to over 35,000 residents.
Like many Dubai neighborhoods, it's hard to believe that this is one of the city's newest landmarks. However, the first tower was completed in 2006 and around 80 % of the rest of the neighborhood in 2011.
With rents lower than Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach, Jumeirah Lake Tower has become one of Dubai's most sought-after locations.
How do I get to Jumeirah Lake Tower?
As in any other part of the city, Jumeirah Lake Tower offers a wide range of transport options. You can take the metro, the bus or the train. the local cab company. The neighborhood is just 15 minutes from downtown and the Marina. Its proximity to a wide range of shops and places of interest makes it an accessible and dynamic neighborhood.
What are the best places to eat in JLT?
The area is full of restaurants that you must visit at least once during your stay.
Betawi Café
In operation since 2007, Betawi has made a name for itself as a the Mecca of Indonesian cuisine in Dubai. Very traditional, expect no-frills decor and low prices with dishes packed with spice and flavor. If you're not familiar with Indonesian cuisine, this is the perfect place to discover it!

Café Isan
Get your Thai fix at one of JLT's two Isan cafés. Flavors are fresh and lighter than typical Thai dishesThis is the case in Isan, in northeast Thailand. Curries and soups are light rather than coconut-based, but spicier.

The French bistro Le Couqley
If you're a fan of steak frites in a classic French bistro settingthis is the place for you. Dotted with dark wood and upholstered cushions, this restaurant is famous for its signature sauces, tuna tartare and pasta with truffles and mushrooms.

Daïkan Ramen
This quirky little ramen restaurant is already becoming a popular haunt. for residents and Japanese noodle lovers. There are six different recipes to discover. Personally, I recommend kimchi and gyozas, which are real delights.

Going out in the bars of Jumeirah Lake Tower
And it's not just restaurants that cater for all types of cuisine. In fact, you'll also find numerous bars where you can relax after a day's sightseeing.
The Hoxton Bar and Urban Eatery
This relatively new East London-themed gourmet pub is a great place to spend an evening. Expect to find jazz and a back room with pool and air field hockey tables. On match days, you can also take advantage of the gigantic TV on site.

Le Petit Belge
This bar is hip, but not too hip. Jazz and live matches are among the many things you'll find on the premises. You'll also find a selection of Belgian craft beers.

Like many of Dubai's neighborhoods, it's packed with activities to enjoy with family and friends.
Going to the park
If you love greenery, you'll love Jumeirah Lake Tower park. The place is packed with morning joggers, evening yoga enthusiasts and all-day picnickers during the winter months. You can even take advantage of the basketball court.
Challenge your friends at Rails
From PC and PS4 games to billiards and foosball, Rails is a unique gaming destination. Invite your friends for a day of friendly competition. The venue also hosts events such as FIFA and Fortnite tournaments for serious gamers to show off their skills.

Jumeirah Lake Tower shelter one of Dubai's No Way Out escape game branchesThis makes it an ideal place to spend your free time. With a choice of themed rooms to try out, you're sure to spice up your evenings with friends.

- Thursday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
