Dubai's Metropolitan Hotel: a place steeped in history
Founded in 1979, the Metropolitan Hotel Dubai was one of the first hotels built in the emirate and the only hotel between the Dubai World Trade Center and Abu Dhabi. Given its legendary status in the city, many long-time Dubai residents were saddened to learn of the Metropolitan's demolition in 2013.
However, just three years later, the new Metropolitan opened its doors to the public, reviving the legend.

From its previous location in Business Bay, The Metropolitan Hotel Dubai has relocated just ten kilometers down the road. Sheikh Zayed Road. Located in Umm Al Sheif, nearAl Barsha and in what is now known as New Dubai.
The inauguration took place in 2016. Today, the hotel attracts regulars and tourists from all over the world.
Enjoy the Red Lion pub during your stay
The much-loved traditional English pub has also reopened at the same time as the hotel. Like its original, which began serving the public in 1978, this incarnation of the Red Lion offers the same dose of British charm, as well as hearty dishes every day.
Sports enthusiasts will also be delighted to have a place to frequent in this part of town. The best matches are shown every day on the pub's giant screens.
