Bread is back in fashion in the United Arab Emirates.

A local favorite since its launch in 2019, Birch has built its reputation on excellent sourdough and now offers different types of bread. Here, you'll find numerous breads ranging from malted wheat bread to light rye.
Shoppers can also get their hands on freshly baked croissants, including matcha and chocolate croissants. You can also discover this exceptional bakery in Dubai. It comes in the form of a puff pastry cinnamon roll.
And don't forget to check out its range of malasada, a Portuguese specialty. Indeed, the place offers a brand new version of this delicacy. This one is wrapped in a burnt sugar shell and filled with gingerbread.
Where is the Birch café?
The Birch café is located in the Al Quoz commercial area. You can reach it by exiting at Equiti metro station. You can also borrow a cab which will take you directly to the site.
What are the opening hours?
The facility opens :
- from Sunday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- the Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Traditional bread in Dubai: For The Love Of Bread
You might recognize this one if you're staying near Spinneys or Waitrose. Here you'll find sliced artisan sourdough breads in the bakery section.
For the Love of Bread now offers free home delivery. A real plus if you can't make it straight to the store. In this traditional bakery, you'll find a full range of delicious pastries, including chocolate chip brioche and traditional brioche, French rye bread and organic sourdough "bâtard de campagnein addition to its usual sourdough breads.
Believe me, it's a real pleasure to be able to enjoy a truffled pecorino generously spread on this point.
Where is this bakery?
Located right next to Birch café, For The Love Of Bread can also be reached by exiting at Equiti metro station. Here again, take public transport to get directly to the site.

Traditional bread in Dubai: the Viking Bakery
This third bakery is truly one of my favorites. In fact, it just keeps getting better and better. The anonymous Viking has become synonymous with Dubai's best baguettes since 2020.
An engineer by trade, the owner offers rustic baguettes baked to the highest standards. Indeed, the dough benefits from a hydration level of 77 %, and contains 0.3 % of yeast. It is then placed in a cool place for at least 14 hours, before undergoing two baking processes. Everything is meticulouslyoffer customers a deliciously designed bread.
The results speak for themselves. The chopsticks are only available in pairs, and you must 20 AED (€5) per baguette. They can only be picked up at Jumeirah, and time slots are limited to Fridays and Saturdays. To be sure of enjoying this delicacy, I recommend ordering in advance, so you can be sure of tasting a delicious baguette during your weekend breakfast.
Where is the Viking located?
The bakery is located right next to the Dubai marina in Jumeirah. You can reach the venue by taking the Sobha Realty exit on the Dubai Metro.
What are the opening hours?
You can visit us on site:
- from Wednesday to Friday, 2 to 6 p.m.
- the Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
