It will be located in the new <a href=\"https:\/\/dubaifacile.fr\/en\/dubai-creek-harbour\/\">Dubai Creek Harbour<\/a>presented as <strong>the future of Dubai<\/strong>and will be its focal point.<\/p>\n<p>This marvel was designed by the Spanish architect <strong>Santiago Calatrava<\/strong>known for his work on Lisbon's Gare d'Oriente and the Olympic Complex in Athens. And its shape, inspired by the flower <em>lily Bud<\/em>It features the typical elements of a minaret, including a balcony from which the muezzin calls Muslims to prayer.<\/p>\n<p>The tower's special features include <strong>floor-mounted cables<\/strong> which will support the gigantic structure, and systems specially designed to absorb shocks and guarantee the tower's stability.<\/p>\n<p>The project began <strong>in 2016<\/strong> and is scheduled for completion in 2020, to be ready for <a href=\"https:\/\/dubaifacile.fr\/en\/expo-2020-dubai\/\">Dubai World Expo<\/a>. For the time being, however, only the construction site is visible.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The world's tallest tower<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Today, the world's tallest tower is none other than <a href=\"https:\/\/dubaifacile.fr\/en\/burj-khalifa\/\">the Burj Khalifa<\/a> of Dubai, with a summit at 828 metres. It is <strong>the current symbol of the city<\/strong> and its most iconic building, but the Dubai Creek Tower could well dethrone it!<\/p>\n<p>While its final height remains a mystery, it is certain to exceed the symbolic <strong>1000 meters high<\/strong>. Some of the craziest figures mentioned include a summit at... 1,345 metres.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the Burj Khalifa is No. 1 but <strong>the tower of Djeddah<\/strong> in Saudi Arabia, whose construction is also at a standstill for the time being, should reach a height of 1,000 meters when completed.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Work delayed<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Construction of the Dubai Creek Tower was paused during the Covid-19 crisis in April 2020. The foundations are in place, but the tower itself has not been started.<\/p>\n<p>The Dubai government seems to be waiting for the pandemic to be definitively over before authorizing <strong>resumption of work<\/strong>.
