Some would be accessible to tourists, others private and reserved for the use of celebrities to organize events or luxury vacations.<\/p>\n<p>The project was born <strong>in 2003\/2004<\/strong> and should have been completed in 2008. However, the financial crisis put the brakes on the project. More than 60 of the islands' %s have been sold to private individuals, so the necessary investment has not, for the time being, allowed the work to go ahead.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What's the status of The World Dubai project?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For the moment, only one <a href=\"https:\/\/dubaifacile.fr\/en\/dubai-island\/\">island of the World Dubai<\/a> is complete: <strong>Lebanon Island<\/strong>covering 1.5 hectares.<\/p>\n<p>Here you will find the beach club <strong><em>The Royal Island Beach Club<\/em><\/strong>with its two beaches, bar, swimming pool and <a href=\"https:\/\/dubaifacile.fr\/en\/restaurant-dubai\/\">restaurant<\/a> and plenty of activities to delight visitors. It's a real little corner of paradise, far away from it all!<\/p>\n<p>In 2014, a Swedish group decided to restart construction with the <strong><em>The Heart of Europe<\/em><\/strong> which currently comprises <strong>8 main islands<\/strong>each corresponding to a European country or region: Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, St. Petersburg, Portofino, C\u00f4te d'Azur, Venice and Central Europe.<\/p>\n<p>It's a collection of interconnected islands with luxury hotels and resorts, an exceptional setting and a view over the sea. <strong>the Dubai skyline<\/strong>in the distance. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the project is on stand-by due to lack of funding, and this could prove problematic in the long term.
